Ravenwing sat quietly, gazing off into the distance, and seeing nothing. Her fur shone with stars and frost glittered on her paws. Her eyes flickered back and forth across the horizon, but everything that is was as it was.

"Hello, Ravenwing," Shadowfur purred, aware of the liquid gleam in his eyes. "I am here at last."
So simple, but yet so choking. Shadowfur spat out the last phrase like crowfood, and swiped his rosy tongue over his lips, wincing as he tasted death.

Ravenwing senced his distaste and mewed soothingly:
"It was hard for me too, getting used to being dead, I mean. But here we are, and here we will stay- we don't ever have to die again, and we won't ever feel the physical kind of pain again."

"It's too bad I'm dead." Shadowfur sounded strangely calm and his eyes looked limpid. "Or I'd get my revenge on Darkheart."
Staring blankly down at the dark tabby in the medicine cat's den, Shadowfur realized slowly that Darkheart had come off with some wounds of his own.

"Revenge is a strange thing; a wild animal, so fickle............" Ravenwing mumbled, her eyes clouded with forgotten and lonely memories. But with a shake, she was brought back to the now.
"Yes, Darkheart will never feel your claws in his sides again, but it is not his fault that you died." Ravenwing flicked her tail, signaling that she knew more than she was telling....................................

"I know." Voice strained, Shadowfur coughed and tried again. "It just seems like it is. But now Nightpaw will never know her father. I guess that could interpreted either way. But she's turned out to be a beautiful apprentice. If only she'd listen to Darkheart more..." he trailed off, musing to himself, obviously unaware of the beauty of StarClan.
Paws shimmering with the barest tracings of icy feathers, Shadowfur stood with a deep reluctance, and let his gaze travel lazily around. A vast expanse of inky blue velvet crossed with the wide band of glimmering stars, Silverpelt, surrounded his body, which seemed small and insignificant, in the clearing, lying where it had fallen. He felt no cold; he could feel nothing. Aching to go to them, to tell Nightpaw, Shadowfur felt his heart wrench, and his legs buckled with the sudden pain.
"Ravenwing, I'll miss her so!" The exclamation was out, and Shadowfur's claws kneaded at nothing. Why had he never gotten to know her?

Ravenwing shook her Head sadly, she understood his pain. "There is nothing you can do to fix the mistakes that you made- only forgive, forget, and try your best to better in the future." She paused, considering before adding, "I never had a son or daughter, though I loved young kits so fiercely. Now, there is no one to remember me, no one of my blood to stand for me..... I only exist in memories, buried deep in hearts and tales told to little ones............." Again, she paused, "That was a mistake I made, and will forever live to regret......... but I do not forget, will not forget why I died, because i perished saving someone who was close to me, someone i loved even, and i know he will remember me till his dying day, and i will be here to greet him in StarClan."
"Do not forget that you will see your young one again............. no one lives forever. When the time comes you can make right your mistake............................... But, for now, you have a Clan to attend to- is it not true that CloudClan is in turmoil? They have no leader, and the medicine cat is stricken! Who will go to them?"

"I shall. I will comfort Sagefrost; show her the path. I will calm them, watch over Silentkit and Leafkit and their grieving mother, my mate, Lilytail," Shadowfur cried. "I shall see Lilytail soon, I know it. At least I can always watch them here, always sense their emotions."
His eyes stared desperately down at the mute kit, lingering by the medicine cat, staring silently at the pile of fur that was his body, and he longed to lick her, to tell her it would be alright.

Ravenwing nodded, for this is what it meant to be a StarClan warrior- watching over those you love and protecting them any way you can. Ravenwing now looked to her own Clan....... and one special warrior.

Pebblefoot
The name was a mere whisper on the breeze................. and etched as ice in her heart forever.

"Who did you love, Ravenwing?" mewed Shadowfur gently. He settled himself on a cloud, and blinked at the starry sky.

OOC- Sorry; I'll try. it's just I tend to forget so it was easier to have exact pictures of them.
BIC- Ravenwing was a bit startled at the question, immediately mentally returning to the conversation. She hesitated, but then went on: "Back when I was alive, a young warrior, I was in love with an apprentice by the name of Pebblepaw. During a fight with IceClan, he was about to be killed and......... I took the blow for him. He avenged my murder, but Pebblepaw.... wasn't ever really the same. He's Pebblefoot now, and I still am madly in love with him. And he loves me too. He hasn't forgotten."

"Oh. I've seen him around," mewed Shadowfur slowly. "I know what it is like to lose someone close to your heart. Nightpaw.." He trailed off, sighing dismally.
