Rainfur headed out of the camp,leading the hunting patrol.

Wildfur and Mosspaw followed. Runningrain was beside them.
Mosspaw was still in a mood by the time they got to the EmberClan border. Looking around halfheartedly, she thought she smelt the scent of a mouse.
Her ears twitching involuntarily as they hunted for any sound, she collapsed into a crouch, then slowly put paw in front of paw until she was only a foxlength away from the plumpish mouse. She pounced, and extinguished it with a single bite.
/I'll bring this back to camp and show Wildfur. He HAS to like me now, right? I caught a large mouse, in the first few minutes we've been here!/, she thought.
With dismay she realised that it would seem very strange for her to just walk up to him with the mosue and announce, "I caught that!"
Reluctantly she scattered dirt and clods of grass over the dead mouse, where she could find it later.

Just then Rainfur noticed a sparrow landing. She pouced quickly but silently and got it.

"Nice catch!" Wildfur complimented. Suddenly, he got self-conscious again and blushed. "I mean, I'm sure that will feed a lot of cats. Well done." Then he decided that was not right, and asked for the last time, "Your're really good at hunting. Maybe we can, you know, go together sometime?"
Mosspaw overheard him and purposely butted in. "I'll come too!"
Wildfur looked at her scathingly. "I meant alone. Just the warriors."
Mosspaw looked unbelievably hurt, but shrugged it off and said, "That was a nice catch, Rainfur. Like he said."

Mosspaw's diminished statue brightened and increased in size withthe friendly compliment. "Thank you Rainfur!" she said.

Mosspaw straingtened up again before responding, very happily. "Thank you! Do you think I'll be made a warrior soon? I mean, Goldenstar's my mentor, but she's been busy and we haven't been training much..." as she said this the fur on her chest fluffed out with pride.

"Yeah..." Mosspaw agreed. "Do you think she'll make you deputy?" she asked curiously.
OOC:// Torrentstar, does the Clan leader get to pick the deputy? Or do only you have that ability? Or does the Clan leader get to influence it?

Mosspaw smiled like a kit. "I bet she will! OOC:// If she can...not because you're my friend but becuse you're on a lot and enough to take over for me if I *ahem* die \\:COO You're a good hunter, a good cat and a good friend! Plus you're nice." she added hesitantly, thinking about how she had tried to include her when Wildpaw so desperately wanted time alone with Rainfur.

Mosspaw felt that she would burst with pride, and was about to respond when Wildfur butted his way into their freidnly conversation by clearing his throat. He obviously wanted to be with Rainfur......alone.
As Mosspaw stalked away, she whispered fiercely into his ear, "I can take a hint!"
