Personality: Bella takes some getting used to. She pushes cats away if she doesn’t know them well. She hates living with the two-legs. Her paws ache to travel the forest, to move all of the time and never settle. She loves those who love her, but she is afraid that Thunder will leave her.

Kits
Anita and Bella were born into EmberClan. Anita-who was known as Frostkit then-was always happy to be a kit and have loads of fun. Bella, known as Dragonkit, hated being a kit, and was ready to be apprenticed the moment she was conceived. She longed to explore the territory, and convinced her sister to join her. The two kits crossed a border where they met a large brown warrior, who brought them back to camp. Their apprentice ceremony was delayed a moon. Dragonkit was miserable. Their father, Fogeyes, left one day with Mountainheart and Silversong on a patrol. They found a badger. Fogeyes was killed, but fortunately the other two chased it out. The kits and their mother spent the remainder of the moon mourning.
Apprentices
Frostpaw was a proud little apprentice, but Dragonpaw wanted to be a warrior. The two were ashamed to become apprentices at seven moons, not six, but they were both given fine mentors. The deputy, Lilycloud, was given Frostpaw. Dragonpaw’s mentor was a mischievous young warrior who was only thirteen moons, six older than his apprentice. The two sisters agreed that he was given an apprentice only to keep him busy. Dragonpaw soon fell in love with her mentor, but didn’t dare tell Ashheart. During their assessment, the two apprentices were attacked by a fox. Their mentors fought by their side and chased them out, but not without Lilycloud’s death. Frostpaw was deeply saddened, for she had looked up to her mentor. The two became warriors the day after.
Warriors
As soon as Dragonpaw received her warrior name, Dragonwing, she pursued Ashheart. He soon became her mate. During this, Frostflower had fallen in love with a handsome kittypet, Thunder. Dragonwing had a kit, Littlekit, but he died. She was miserable. Ashheart went everywhere with her. Together they watched Dragonwing’s mother, Foxheart die from greencough. On a patrol with Frostflower, they were attacked by a badger that killed Ashheart. Frostflower was thrown into a tree and lost consciousness. Furious that she had lost her mate and possibly her sister, Dragonwing flew at the badger with the strength of LionClan. It ran away. She stayed with her sister until Frostflower became conscious again.
“We must leave here,” Dragonwing cried, “I cannot stay here another minute!”
Frostflower couldn’t tell her sister about Thunder, but she wanted to live with him. She thought immediately of her friend, Cream, who lived with him. “I know this cat, a kittypet who can help us. She’s not a soft kittypet. When I met her, she almost killed me.” Frostflower smiled fondly. “We will live with the two-legs for a while. She can show us how. A few moons ago, a couple loners helped me out. We can adopt their names. I will be Anita. You will be Bella.”
With that, it was decided. Cream helped them charm the two-legs who lived next door to her and Thunder. Anita never told her sister about Thunder. Bella soon fell in love with him as well, but she never told her sister.
